Moments, not poses
I photograph weddings the way they actually happen. I do not line people up or ask anyone to do it again. I watch, wait and keep the moments nobody planned: a father straightening a garland, a cousin crying at the back, two people forgetting the camera completely.
Most of my couples tell me afterwards that they barely noticed I was there. That is the point.
Every tradition on the island
A Hindu wedding in Flacq, a church wedding in Cap Malheureux, a civil ceremony on the beach at Le Morne: every one has its own rhythm, its own rituals and its own moments that cannot be missed.
I know when the turmeric is coming, where to stand during the pheras and when to put the camera down. And I am there for the Geet Gawai, the haldi and the mehndi too, because some of the best photographs of the week happen before the wedding day.
